Our vision for teaching and learning at Lake Clarendon State School.

Current priorities

  • Curriculum Framework aligned with Australian Curriculum
  • Engagement of students through a focus on science and technology
  • Maximising achievement in writing and spelling (teacher aide in every classroom)
  • Develop strategies to extend students in the early years. (Early years curriculum/data teacher)
  • Develop strategies to assist students to monitor their own learning and to set goals for future learning
  • Provide opportunities for teachers to share expert teaching practice.  
  • Using data to inform teaching practice
  • Develop teachers instructional leadership capability with key learning areas.
  • Develop productive partnerships with students, staff, parents, and the community

Distinctive curriculum offerings       

Our curriculum offerings include

  • Music – Specialist Music teacher for Instrumental Music (brass, woodwind and percussion) from Year 5.
  • Health and Physical Education – specialist teacher, speed soccer/netball, swimming & athletics.
  • SAILS Excellence Academy
  • Camping Program for Years 5-6 (2 year rotation – Emu Gully & a Beach camp
  • Science – Science Week activities including a Science Fair are held annually
  • Languages Other Than English (LOTE) – Japanese for all students
  • Inclusive Education – Our Learning Support program caters for students from Prep to Year 6 and our Gifted Education Program caters for students from Year 1 to Year 6.
  • Experience based curriculum opportunities with excursions and incursions integral to learning in classrooms.
