Japanese
Students at Lake Clarendon are taught Japanese from Prep to Year 6 by a specialist Teacher. The focus is not only the language but understanding culture. Children are exposed to a variety of activities to enhance their learning of the Japanese language. To further extend students learning of the language, year 5 and 6 students participate in online networking with our partner school, Shibakawa Elementary school in Ageo City, Japan. This is a great way for children to interact across countries, make new friends and to learn from their peers in another country. It is also a wonderful way to enhance cultural understanding of the Japanese language through games, craft, story telling, music and multi media.
Below is an overview of the curriculum taught in Japanese that aligns with ACARA (the Australian curriculum)
